| Join us at the
second Klamath Watershed Festival July 18 and 19, 2008, celebrating
the power of community, the arts, and watershed restoration to restore
our rivers, our forests, and ourselves. The festival includes live
music, poetry, and spoken word; educational hikes, raft trips, involvement
in local restoration projects on the Klamath River, childrens
activities, local art exhibits, craft booths, video and multimedia
presentations, savory food, and riverside camping! |
| Music begins early
evening on Friday, July 18th. Festival activities are scheduled for
Saturday the 19th, with rafting and educational hikes. The Saturday
concerts start in the late afternoon, all at the beautiful River Park
off Hwy. 96 in downtown Happy Camp. |

| Interactive childrens
activities include: fish print T-shirts, salmon games, fish puppet
parade, face painting, bounce house, a rock skipping contest, dunk
tank, plus riverside camping! |

Tickets
|
Advance
tickets are on sale now @ $25 for the entire weekend. Tickets will
be available at the gate: $10 for Friday, $20 for Saturday,
or $25 for the weekend. Camping pass is $10 per vehicle. Student
discounts available. Advance tickets may be purchased from the Mid
Klamath Watershed Council, the Salmon River Restoration Council,
and the Klamath-Siskiyou Arts Center. Kids under 12 free!

Camping
Information
| Shaded, grassy
areas are available for tent sites and overnight camping. No campfires
are allowed on the grass. Dogs and fireworks are not permitted. There
are no RV hookups. Camping pass is $10 per vehicle
(not included in admission price). |

Happy
Camp, California lies in the Klamath River Valley along Hwy.
96, where the Bigfoot
Scenic Byway and the State
of Jefferson Scenic Byway meet. The Happy Camp River Park is
just off Hwy. 96 in downtown Happy Camp. Turn onto Park Way (between
the Napa Auto Parts store and the US Forest Service building), drive
slowly 1/4 mile, and stay to the right where the road forksor
simply follow the signs downtown. Important: yield to fire
personnel, pedestrians, and festival staff.
From
Oregon, Ashland OR, and Medford OR - Take Interstate 5 south
to Exit #786 in CA. Proceed west on CA Hwy. 96 (the Klamath River
Highway) about 64 miles to Happy Camp. [Map]
From
Klamath Lake - Klamath Falls, Chiloquin, OR - Take US-97 S (The
Dalles-California Hwy/US-97) - drive 57.9 mi. Right at A-12 (99-97
Cut-Off/CR-A12) - drive 18.4 mi. Right onto I-5 N (after passing
through Grenada/Gazelle) - drive 9.2 mi. Exit 776 toward Montague/Yreka
- drive 0.2 mi. Left at CA-3/Montague Rd - drive 0.3 mi. Right at
CA-263 - drive 8.1 mi. Continue north 8.1 miles through the canyon
until you cross the Klamath River, the make a sharp left turn onto
Hwy. 96 (the Klamath River Highway). Proceed west on 96 aboutt 61.5
miles to Happy Camp.
From
Yreka, Mount Shasta, Central and Southern CA - Take Interstate
5 north to the Yreka/Montague exit #776. Make a left onto Montague
Rd. (CA 3) at the offramp. Happy Camp is another 70 miles with few
services along the way, so check if you need fuel in Yreka. Go 0.3
miles to the first stop sign, and turn right onto CA 263. Continue
north 8.1 miles through the canyon until you cross the Klamath River,
the make a sharp left turn onto Hwy. 96 (the Klamath River Highway).
Proceed west on 96 to Happy Camp. [Map]
From
the Redwood Highway US 199 (Coastal Oregon, Grants
Pass, Cave Junction, and Crescent City CA) - Take Waldo Road
east from 199, just north of O'Brien OR, or south of Cave Junction
OR. Continue east on Waldo Road about 5 miles, straight through
the stop sign, where it becomes Happy Camp Road. Continue on Happy
Camp Road over Page Mt. about 32 miles (in CA it is called Indian
Creek Road). Bear left onto Davis Road as you approach downtown
Happy Camp, and make a right turn at the stop sign onto Hwy. 96
at the Bigfoot sculpture.
From
Arcata, Eureka, US Hwy. 101 and the N. California Coast - Take
US Hwy. 101 to exit #716A onto CA 299. Follow Hwy. 299 east towards
Weaverville and Redding about 37.9 miles, then turn north onto Hwy.
96 in Willow Creek. Drive carefully and enjoy the scenery about
82 miles to Happy Camp. [Map]

and clear today! Winds will b from the north-northwest, Siskiyou
forest fires away from Happy Camp. Looking forward to a second beautiful
day of music and fun.
Friday's
weather was also clear and clan, with no smoke from the forest fires
in Happy Camp.
